This book presents for the first time an annotated English translation of

the liturgical poems composed by the Karaite sage R. Aaron ben Joseph

(thirteenth to fourteenth centuries, Constantinople) for the weekly Torah

portions, to be recited during the qedusha liturgy on the Sabbath. These

poems or piyyuṭim (singular: piyyuṭ) for the Torah portions or parashiyyoth

(singular: parasha) are still recited in Karaite synagogues today, both in

Israel and in the Diaspora.
